There have been phone calls and text messages in the area claiming to be from Teutopolis State Bank. These calls are not from Teutopolis State Bank. The phone calls and text messages are stating a customer's debit card has been deactivated and are requesting account numbers, PIN numbers, CVV numbers, and expiration dates in order to reactivate the card. If this information is obtained by a dishonest person, they have all the data they need to do unauthorized transactions on your debit card.
Teutopolis State Bank will never request any confidential information from a customer such as PIN number, CVV number, expiration date, social security number, or password. Never give your PIN number or password to anyone including Teutopolis State Bank. If you have any questions please contact the bank.

This is the highest rating of all banks in Effingham County. In fact, fewer than three percent of the nation's banks and thrifts meet TheStreet.com Ratings' criteria for exceptional financial strength. As you have probably heard, the FDIC has temporarily increased insurance coverage for each depositor up to $250,000 through the end of 2013.
